CTP Training News and Updates LCL Awards L3 Certificate in Refrigeration, Air Conditioning & Heat Pump Systems

CTP are pleased to announce that we will be delivering our LCL Awards L3 Certificate in Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heat Pump Systems at a new venue in Chesterfield from January 2022.

The focus will very much be around gaining the practical skills to install and maintain refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump units; and the training will also include the F-Gas (Cat1) and 18th Edition Wiring Regulations. Attendees will receive a course manual as well as one year’s access to online training materials.

Driver Training Changes

The Government announced changes to Driver Training at the end of 2021, and this includes the ability to gain a Cat C+E licence (articulated lorry) without first having achieved the Cat C licence. While CTP aren’t currently delivering this 10-day fast track C+E course, learners can still complete contract-funded 5-day Cat C and 5-day Cat C+E courses with us - offering excellent value for money.

For more details, please view the transport training pages on our website, where you’ll also be able to view and download some Frequently Asked Questions about changes to driver training.

IWFM Level 4 Certificate in Facilities Management

We have recently introduced a new IWFM L4 Certificate in Facilities Management. The course will be 2 weeks of classroom training at RTC Aldershot, followed by 1 week of virtual classroom training via webinar. There will be 4 units of study and the course will be assessed by assignments. ELCAS funding may be used.

We currently have around 1200 Facilities Management roles on RightJob, and it’s a very popular career choice for many Service leavers.

With more and more people taking up cycling over the pandemic, and a movement towards a green transport solution, there is greater demand for the skills required to maintain a bike and get the most out of the cycling experience.

With this in mind, CTP now offer a Cycling Essentials 5-day course in Appleby, Cumbria. As well as learning maintenance and repair skills each attendee will have an individual assessment of their cycling and their bike/s, whereby a training plan can be created and put into place. This is a unique course put together specifically for Service leavers and is not available anywhere else.

There is no qualification gained but attendees will develop the practical skills and knowledge to maximise their cycling experience. Check out this page for full details.

We also offer the IMI L3 Certificate in Cycle Maintenance course which introduces a fully blended approach to learning, and will greatly reduce the amount of time Service leavers need to spend away from home or their work location. This higher level course is ideal for those seeking a career in cycle maintenance and repair, or within a cycle retailer.

Much of the theory will be learned remotely and Service leavers will learn in their own time over two weeks, using Google docs, access to other online materials and videos, video conference calls several times a week with course Tutors, and recorded Masterclasses on Saturdays. These Masterclasses will provide attendees with practical learning opportunities through live lessons. Service leavers will then attend the Bike Inn workshop in Appleby-in-Westmorland, on the edge of the Lake District, for 10 days of intensive practical training and assessments.

With a 2:1 student to tutor ratio and extensive training in diagnosis, maintenance and repairs for both standard bicycles and E-Bikes, attendees will find the experience perfectly tailored to those working within cycle retail or repair and maintenance.
