Our
Work as One value showcases how employees at Smart Fleet Solutions work together to help and support each other as a team to achieve our company goals, no matter what part of the business you work in.
Building great relationships with colleagues is highlighted in our Build Talent value, which looks at building individual talent as well as building each other’s talent. We have on site mentors in the team who are there to assist and develop the skills of our trainees. To us, training and development is huge and is why we invest so much effort into these areas; so that our trainees become multi-skilled technicians and are supported by the rest of the Smart Fleet Solutions family.
Group Technical trainer Jamie explains: “This is an exciting time for Smart Fleet Solutions and there is progression available for everyone. With our clear training plans and path of progression, we are multi-skilling our workforce and developing our technicians to get to where they want to be as individuals. We are constantly evolving and creating innovative solutions for our customers and are always on the lookout for additional talent from CTP events who represent our core values to add to the team.”
Our core Delivers Promises value focuses on delivering what you can, in line with Smart Fleet targets and objectives. Ex-military employee Paul Serplus believes that this value goes hand-in-hand with core skills that military applicants can bring to the team. “Working in maintenance at Smart Fleet Solutions has enabled me to transfer some key skills from my time in the forces, as delivering promises was a key element to this role. No matter your role or skillset at Smart Fleet Solutions, delivering 100% in everything that you do, with support from the wider team, is the norm.”
Generates fresh ideas is a value that encourages employees from all areas of the business to share their ideas when it comes to business improvements; from small changes to larger innovative approaches. When an idea is implemented, the individual(s) are recognised for it through our internal rewards and benefits platform.
Our final value,
Make it Simple, aims to make complex processes simple in order to help everyone do the best job possible. These processes are shared within the SFS family to benefit all areas of the organisation through our smart ways of working.
Mark Patterson, who recently joined our Cold Meece Technical Centre following an introduction at a CTP event, says “Prior to joining Smart Fleet Solutions I was a Lance Corporal in the 1st Regiment RLC based in Bicester. I have only been here for 3 weeks but I am enjoying the role: the team dynamic great, and the managers and supervisors etc are all really friendly. The simple processes in place have helped me to develop in the role, with no prior experience in the industry.”
Mark adds: “I joined SFS as it seemed like a really friendly company, and I liked the fact that they had the VR paint spraying at the jobs fair which really enticed me. It meant that I could have a go at what the company does every day. The culture here is great, everyone is very chatty, there are no cliques, and everyone is more than happy to help you out whenever you need it. At the jobs fair I met some of the SFS team, they were very friendly, approachable and easy to talk to. They were very enthusiastic and got you involved in the VR paint spraying machine. I have learnt about prep and prime but will learn a lot more when I am more confident in the role, which I am sure will come with time. I am looking forward to developing my career in SFS. Smart Fleet Solutions company culture is also represented with a little friendly competition across our Technical Centres and Central Services office (Cold Meece, Long Bennington, Livingston, Westbury and Holmes Chapel). We recently held a SimSpray competition to fundraise for our Charity of the Year, Debra
