Why EDF?

At EDF every single one of us is 100% committed to reducing the UK’s carbon emissions to Net Zero. We’re generating the right mix of low carbon electricity to power the nation today, while building the low carbon infrastructure Britain will need tomorrow.

Our people form a 10,000+ strong community, rich in diverse backgrounds and perspectives, and we empower our people with the skills they need to build a successful career and bring our purpose to life in their work.

Join us and together we can help Britain achieve Net Zero.

Opportunities

In our Nuclear Generation business unit, the Independent Nuclear Assurance teams are our on-site regulators, keeping us on-track with external and internal compliance and obligations.

We’re recruiting people with an engineering background to join us as Nuclear Safety Inspectors in our teams at Sizewell B Power Station in Suffolk, and Dungeness B Power Station in Kent.

In these critical positions, you’ll be carrying out on-site inspections and reviews to identify shortfalls and pave the way for plans and required improvements to be put in place.

You’ll be interacting with an array of departments, functions, team members and external stakeholders, meaning you’ll play a crucial part in a wide breadth of station life. You’ll consequently benefit from a wealth of progression and career development opportunities.

What we’re looking for

Previous nuclear operations experience will be key to ensuring you can apply your background knowledge to the intricacies of our plant. You’ll have an engineering or science HNC (or equivalent), and the ability to deliver challenging messages to all levels of the organisation.

At EDF we find that many ex-military personnel have nuclear, engineering or life experience that is directly transferable to the energy industry. We actively encourage applications from Service leavers and their families, and once you join us, you’ll find a network of Forces Supporters throughout our business.

Your experience in Service makes you a good fit for these roles because you have the integrity and self-sufficiency to join our team and hit the ground running on crucial assurance work. Your understanding of process and review-based practices will be paramount to the critical perspective we need on station.

What we can offer you

A job with EDF is a job you can be proud of – working towards Britain’s Net Zero target.

Employee development is important to us and you can be sure that we’ll offer you clear training and personal development opportunities.

In addition to a salary ranging from £64,908 - £89,818, we offer a company pension scheme, paid holidays and a range of benefits to support our employees’ physical, emotional and financial wellbeing.

Forces Support Network:

One of the main strengths of EDF is our commitment to diversity, inclusion and belonging. Being a member of The Armed Forces Covenant further strengthens our position, and we hope to continue with our pledge made in 2016 to continue engaging with the military community.

Our EDF Forces Support Network is open to all supporters of the Armed Forces, not just ex-military personnel. Its primary aim is to provide a mutually supportive network for former Armed Forces personnel to maximize the contribution that their military experience brings to the company.

All of our roles are directly accessible to all Service leavers through the Career Transition Partnership. All you need to do is head over to their online job portal, RightJob and apply for the below positions:
