Vivid Sign Armed Forces Covenant pledging their support to the Armed Forces community
Mark Perry, Chief Executive of VIVID and Cdr Harriet Morris, Chief of Staff Royal Navy Media Comms and Engagement signed the Covenant on 24 September in VIVID’s head office in Portsmouth.

In signing the Covenant, the housing association has promised to help support the employment of veterans by working with Career Transition Partnership (CTP) in order to establish a tailored employment pathway for service leavers. It has agreed to support the employment of service spouses and partners and will offer a degree of flexibility in granting leave before, during and after a partner’s deployment. VIVID will also encourage employees who choose to be members of the Reserve forces by accommodating any training and deployment necessary.

The Armed Forces Covenant represents a promise by the nation to ensure those who serve or have served, and their families, are treated fairly and are not disadvantaged by the public, commercial services, nor compared to any other citizen.

Mark Perry, Chief Executive of VIVID says, “We believe in building more homes and bright futures. That means we take the wellbeing of our customers and our employees seriously. We’re a big employer of ex-service personnel and many of our customers are veterans and military families therefore, signing the Armed Forces Covenant was a natural progression for us and I am delighted we’ve done it.

“The Covenant is an important pledge for organisations to sign. It reminds us of the commitment and service so many men and women do for our country. Once they leave service some find it difficult to integrate back into civilian life. It’s our duty to support them in building skills that are needed on civvy street, so they can have brighter futures.”

In June VIVID announced it had appointed Veterans in Action as its official charity of the year to support the organisation’s work helping veterans adjust to civilian life.  The partnership will run for 12 months with VIVID committing to raise over £20,000 through a range of staff fundraising activities.
