The Ministry of Defence (MoD) has recognised Eddie Stobart for its continued support of the Armed Forces.
The supply chain, transport and logistics company – which has its headquarters in Appleton – has been awarded an MoD Employer Recognition Scheme Silver Award for the second time.
And on Friday it re-signed the Armed Forces Covenant, while welcoming Armed Forces personnel to its Warrington site to meet employees who are already reservists.
Eddie Stobart has been working to recruit service leavers and actively encourages employees to join the reserves, with policies and measures in place to ensure workers can give their 'full commitment' to the forces.
This includes an extra two weeks of paid leave, on top of normal holiday allowance, to attend an annual training camp. Human resources director Angelina Miley said: "As one of the major logistics providers in the UK, we are proud of our role in supporting the Armed Forces.
"We are continually looking at how we aid employees who are part of the Reserve Forces and we're keen to recruit people leaving military service.
"We look forward to growing our relationship with the MoD over the coming years."
Lt Col Justin Tancrel, commanding officer at the 4th Battalion Duke of Lancaster's Regiment, added: "On behalf of defence, I welcome Eddie Stobart's renewed and continuing support to the Armed Forces community.
"Service leavers and serving reservists bring a wealth of skills and experience to civilian employers and, in turn, reservists contribute invaluable knowledge and expertise to the Armed Forces.
"The continuing support of organisations, like Eddie Stobart, is vital to defence and we thank them for their commitment."
