Joint Operations Unit are currently recruiting an Armourer for Hampshire Police Constabulary based at Netley, Southampton.

The Joint Operations Unit (JOU) forms a major part of the constabulary's protective services, assembling together highly specialised units and teams with a vast array of skills in a collaborative agreement with Thames Valley Police.

These teams within the Joint Operations Unit work together with the dedicated aim of supporting the territorial Areas in providing the highest levels of local policing and protecting the community.

Do you have the skills to manage all operational and training firearms and ancillary equipment held by the Force including maintaining, repairing, and supervising the destruction of such equipment?

Would you be able to advise officers and Police Staff within the Force, and externally, in regard to the law relating to armoury, and act as Firearms Expert in order to ensure compliance with Legislation, policies, procedures and HMI recommendations?

Having qualified as a Police Range Safety Inspector, you will undertake inspections on behalf of the Chief Firearms Instructor, complete returns and assume responsibility for general range management.

The job offers an excellent salary of £31,620 - £34,098, plus benefits.

You must have previously qualified and be current and competent as Police Range Safety Inspector (PRSI), or be prepared to be trained as such.
