Events

The easy way for employers and employees to meet

We organise Employment Fairs, Online Chat Events and Company Presentations across the UK every year. They’re a great opportunity for Service leavers to network with potential employers and to find out about different sectors. As well as checking out the opportunities available to you, you’ll be able to find out what qualifications you need, identify any training needs and gain an insight into civilian employment.

CTP employment fairs offer:

A fantastic networking opportunity - whether you're ready to apply for live jobs or simply researching the market
The chance to meet employers who already recognise the skills and experience Service leavers can offer
Presentations from key employers about their recruitment processes and vacancies
A wide range of companies, from small regional organisations to large multinationals, from across many different industry sectors
The opportunity to chat with Service support organisations, CTP staff, and other Service leavers who are also going through the resettlement process

Online Event
These events enable you to learn about specific industries, employers or resettlement-related topics, all from the comfort of your own home or office. All you'll need is access to a computer (or tablet, for some events) with broadband.

Simply follow the instructions to register and log in to the event at the allotted time. You won't be required to take a day's leave, as most events last for an hour, and can be attended during breaks or evenings.

Military Transition Event
Military Transition Fairs are run by local Brigades and generally feature a mini employment fair as well as support services from the region, who are available to advise on areas such as housing, healthcare and education for Service leavers and their families.

Follow On Workshop

There is a range of “follow on” workshops and briefings, including Networking, Finance.

All the workshops are included within your resettlement entitlement, and there is no cost for attending – don’t miss out!

Employer Event

These events take place on company premises or in resettlement centres and focus on one particular company who has multiple vacancies for Service leavers.

The events usually consist of a presentation about the company and employment opportunities available. Many organisations bring along staff who are ex-Forces so they can speak about their own experience of their transition into the civilian workplace.
