RightJob Instructions
Right Job is the on-line job-finding service allowing Service leavers who are receiving a resettlement service from CTP to search and apply for any of the thousands of live vacancies on the jobs database.
Accessing the RightJob website
Access to RightJob is via the link at the top right of each page of this website. You can log on when you have received your password which is normally on completion of a Career Transition Workshop or subsequently by email - it will contain 6 letters and two numbers, is case sensitive and is not changeable.
Vacancy Search
All live vacancies on our database will be searchable via RightJob. You may search for vacancies using the following criteria:

Skill category - from a drop down list

Minimum salary - type in the amount in full e.g. 20000

Type of work you want - Permanent, Contract or Both

Locations - Counties selected from a drop down list

Key Words - can be used to refine a search (not mandatory)
After changing locations or skills categories you must press the Select button to confirm your action. A list of jobs that match the search criteria is displayed. You can click on the reference number or job title to view more details, including a job description. Results can be sorted by closing date or reference number - just click on the relevant heading. The number of pages of search results is shown in the bottom right hand corner.
Applying for vacancies
There are three different ways in which the employer can ask you to apply for a vacancy: sending a CV by e-mail, requesting an application pack, or by connecting to their web site. You will be prompted to use one of these three methods.
If applying by CV you will need to enter text in a covering email - please ensure that spelling and grammar are correct. You will be able to upload a tailored CV from your PC and attach it to the e-mail (preferred option) or, if you have a CV held on our database, you may view it but not edit it before sending.
You will be advised, via a pop-up message, that you should not include contact details on your CV other than email address and mobile phone number.
You will receive a message on screen to confirm that your application has been sent.
Any job applications made through Right Job are visible in My Applications. You can send follow up e-mails directly to the employer or withdraw your application in My Applications.
Updating your details through RightJob
To update your details select My Profile from the top of the web page or Edit Account from the side menu. The following fields may be updated in the Profile page (NOTE: your Record in our database is updated immediately).
If you wish employers to view your CV on-line click the tick box next to 'View CV' availability. You may view your CV held on our database but you cannot update it on-line. Having made your changes, click the Update button at the bottom of the page.
Lost or forgotten passwords
If you have forgotten your password or get locked out after three incorrect attempts, you will be prompted to contact your RRC by phone to unlock your account and/or give you your password.
