MOD DEFENCE EQUIPMENT & SUPPORT EVENT COVERAGE

To raise awareness of careers available with MOD Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S), RRC Tidworth co-hosted an event at the DE&S headquarters at Abbeywood, Bristol in May.
The event was attended by 205 Service leavers, keen to find out more about opportunities available from jobs in Project Management to engineers. This day long event consisted of a number of presentations throughout the morning by SLs who are now full-time members of staff within DE&S. They talked of their experiences from first applying, through the assessment process, to what it is like to work for the organisation now. This was followed by HR representatives who outlined more about the selection process and explained benefits for MOD employees.
After lunch, attendees were split into two groups to review example questions give in the application form and further advice on sitting the assessments. The opposite group visited the 'market place' where a number of stalls were laid out by representatives who answered questions on specific areas within DE&S who are recruiting. This gave SLs an opportunity to network and answer questions specific to their own needs and gather more information on possible future careers.

One Service leaver who attended said "An excellent event. Well planned from start to finish including notification of the event and joining instructions. Well informed presentation and a very useful 'job fair' which has resulted in me being very much better informed than I was. Well done to all involved and thanks to the CTP."
