BEYOND THE CALL OF DUTY

York-england.com is the inward investment agency for York and North Yorkshire. This group in partnership with the Armed Forces Yorkshire and supported by Yorkshire Forward are helping local businesses fill recruitment gaps by introducing them to a valuable free resource that will allow access to the Armed Forces top talent.
The event consisted of providing delegates with an insight into the diverse set of skills Service leavers possess as well as an introduction to the CTP's online job finding service, RightJob, which allows companies to advertise their vacancies free of charge. They also heard first hand from a number of leavers and were given the opportunity to network with a selection of them after the event.
Denise Stuart, Chief Executive of york-england.com said:
"Leavers coming out of the Armed Forces are highly skilled and provide a superb additional employment pool that is complimentary to our local labour supply. Not only can businesses benefit from the capabilities of the leavers but the CTP service is free of charge so it proves a very cost effective recruitment solution."
