Employment Fairs and Industry Awareness Days

We organise a large number of employment fairs throughout the UK each year. Here you can meet civilian employers and discuss the employment market in general, as well as specific industry sectors. These fairs provide an opportunity to network with potential employers. You can also find out more about careers available in today's competitive job market, the opportunities that await you, and the qualifications and experience you already have or will need.

Employment Fairs

Typically between 40-60 different employers or employer organisations will set up stands at an employment fair.  They can answer your questions and provide information about their organisation and the opportunities available. Employers attend because they have recognised the particular benefits of employing Service leavers and they see CTP employment fairs as an excellent way of recruiting the type of people they seek - people like you - who are highly skilled and have strong soft skills such as motivation, reliability and discipline.  The whole event provides an excellent opportunity to gain ideas about your future career, find out about training options and network with potential employers.  We encourage Service leavers to take along plenty of copies of their CV to these events as employers will be more than happy to collect CVs from potential candidates for vacancies they have on offer.

Employment fairs and seminars are organised by the RRCs throughout England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Anyone wishing to attend an employment fair should apply by emailing the host RRC using the link provided on the event calendar whilst viewing the event you wish to attend.

You will be advised that you will also need to submit a MOD Form 363 available from Unit Resettlement Offices, Single Service Resettlement Advisors or Regional Resettlement Centres.  Completed forms should be sent to the RRC organising the fair.  Employment fairs are run for your benefit, and may just provide that link to the job you want and deserve.

Industry Awareness Days

These events focus on a particular industry sector and several employers will talk about their industry and the opportunities it offers. They are normally held in RRCs and enable you to gain a general overview as well as meet people and ask specific questions.  Some companies will hold informal interviews on the day and if successful, you could be invited along for a formal interview at a later date.
