Financial Aspects of Resettlement Briefing (FAR)
The Finance Aspects of Resettlement Briefing is run by the Forces Pension Society and lasts for half a day. Contact details of Financial Advisors will be available at the briefing. Attendance at these events is treated as duty. Allowances apply, and may take place at any time in a Service person's career, although priority is given to Service leavers with 9 months or fewer until discharge. Briefings are tailored to different rank groups, and spouses can attend.
In Germany the briefings are held three times a year in various locations - call RRC Herford or your local AEC for dates.
Format of FAR Briefings in 2008
FAR briefings will take various formats dependant on location and target audience:

Aldergrove, Aldershot, Catterick, Plymouth, Portsmouth & Rosyth RRCs host All Rank FARs which have AFPS* Information and generic Financial Advice (All day). Some of the Scottish FARs are held at RAF Kinloss.

Tidworth RRC hosts All Rank FARs which have AFPS* Information and generic Financial Advice (All day) and also hosts Preserved FARs which comprise AFPS* Information only (Morning only).

Cottesmore & Uxbridge RRCs hosts FARs for Officers & Other Ranks which have AFPS* Information and generic Financial Advice (All day).

Germany, Cyprus & Colchester host All Rank FARs which have AFPS* Information and generic Financial Advice (All day).
